Portovenere. It’s pretty timeless there too. Most of the buildings are between 500 and 1000 years old. The church is 11th century – and built on the site of a pagan temple from before Jesus Christ. The name means ‘the port of Venus’, the goddess of beauty. And that beauty is certainly there. At night time, when the town is all lit up, you can feel yourself ‘back then’ at various times in its history, or that all those times are still there – in the walls, the sea, in the whole atmosphere of the place. And yes, it is right by the sea, making a wonderful natural harbour. The weather was kind, mostly sun, with spring warmth, lost to cold at night time though.
I began this blog saying – ‘it’s pretty timeless there too’ – because so it was also in the seminar. There were 6 newcomers, otherwise more or less everybody there was a regular – since years; including some who had signed up as Wild Geese back in 1985, when it all began, and have come every time since too. So timeless again there...
That sense of timelessness was present throughout. Apart from finding the cosmic timelessness, also present in this room with us was the inner timelessness – confirming that in each person the origin of life is still alive and present.
Finding timelessness is something that happens whenever you connect with the cosmic energy – as many Wild Geese do, again & again. To find the One is to be beyond ‘the ten thousand things’.
That goes without saying.
But too, in the depths of our being, in each and every one of us, lies that same timelessness; the very source of all life is present in all. (This discovery comes later).
The Way up is the Way down.
A diamond can represent this graphically. The 4 points. Between the two side points runs time, the life. The top point represents the cosmic oneness that is also timeless. And the bottom point represents this inner oneness and timelessness to which I now refer.
We live in between the two side points, inevitably, but both upper and lower points of the diamond are accessible at the same time as the other two. That is the Ultimate Teaching, the Ultimate Realization.
Another thing: from this shining seminar. I spent almost an hour working – as it appeared – with just one man, a newcomer who was quite blocked. As I worked on and on with him, it became clear that in that blocking in him there were also all the lesser blockings in everyone else in the group. And that in releasing that blocking – to some extent – so it happened too for all the others – as some participants confirmed afterwards. So we are all in each one. Each part is part of the whole and at the same time the whole is in every part. As in ‘Indra’s net’. And that’s why after the Master, the Sangha is so important for the continuation of a person’s path.
Apart from all that, being in Italy, we ate very well. Very well! A super local restaurant – which we always go to when there, on Friday and Saturday evenings, and then on Sunday to a fantastic restaurant on a small nearby island, top cuisine, where I am regularly treated by our gorgeous hostesses, Galanda and Shamara.
As always, Vandana, Wild Goose since 1985, and an Energy World veteran, was, as always, there, to translate for the Italians – who still stick mainly to their own expressive language, even in these international times. Akali drove the equipment down and gave his usual – now trained! – assistance Along with Mishka.
Then in the morning, Monday, Galanda gave beautiful massage sessions – as good as I’ve ever had – to both Mishka and me before we set off on the journey home – by road.
Both ways it took us, with a stop – 8 hours, but with Mishka being a great, fast, and tireless driver, and with spelling each other, we arrived home still fresh enough – for me to catch up on England’s successful performance (4-0) last Friday in the European Cup, (Arsenal player Welbeck, being made Man of the Match!)
The connection with our Italian Wild Geese now gets again stronger.

Portovenere. Un luogo anch'esso senza tempo. La maggior parte degli edifici risale a 500 o addirittura a 1000 anni fa. La chiesa è dell' XI secolo ed è stata costruita sulle rovine di un tempio pagano di molto antecedente alla venuta di Cristo. Il nome significa “Il porto di Venere”, la Dea della bellezza. E la bellezza è certamente parte di quel luogo. La notte, quando il paese si illumina, ci si sente portati in un altro tempo, nella storia passata di questo luogo; è come se tutto il tempo andato fosse ancora percepibile nel presente, nelle mura, nel mare, nell’atmosfera del luogo. E sì, Portovenere è proprio sul mare, costruito sulle rive di un meraviglioso porto naturale. Il clima è stato clemente: c’è stato quasi sempre il sole ed un un piacevole calore primaverile che però andava perso nella temperatura fredda della notte.
Ho iniziato questo blog dicendo: un luogo anch’esso senza tempo, perché è stato così anche nel seminario. All'infuori di sei nuovi partecipanti, tutti gli altri, più o meno regolarmente e da anni sono presenti a questo evento, compresi alcuni Wild Geese che già dal 1985, quando tutto è iniziato, erano coinvolti e da allora hanno partecipato regolarmente. Anche in questo caso si può parlare di situazioni senza tempo…
Questo senso di essere fuori dal tempo è stato presente durante tutto il seminario. Ognuno di noi ha potuto trovare un contatto con lo spazio cosmico oltre il tempo, ugualmente tangibile nella stanza ed allo stesso tempo, con ognuno di noi, era una profonda percezione interiore, fuori dal tempo, che conferma come in ogni persona l’origine della vita è ancora e sempre presente, viva.
La dimensione oltre il tempo la si può cogliere ogni volta che ci si connette con l’energia cosmica, così come ogni Wild Geese fa ripetutamente. Trovare l’Uno significa essere oltre “le diecimila cose”. Questo va da sé.
Ma anche nella profondità del nostro essere, in ognuno e ognuna di noi, c’è uno spazio che è senza tempo; la sorgente stessa della vita è presente in tutti (e questa scoperta arriva di conseguenza).
La Via verso L’alto è la Via verso il basso.
La figura del diamante, con i suoi quattro punti, può rappresentare questo graficamente. Fra i due punti sui lati scorre il tempo, la vita. Il punto in alto rappresenta l’unità cosmica, che è anch’essa senza tempo. E il punto più in basso rappresenta l’interiorità individuale e lo spazio senza tempo al quale ora mi sono riferito.
Noi viviamo la nostra vita nella linea fra i due punti laterali, inevitabilmente, ma entrambe le sommità, quella superiore e quella inferiore, sono accessibili allo stesso tempo, come le altre due estremità. Questo è l’Insegnamento Ultimo, la Realizzazione Ultima.
Un altro dono da questo seminario illuminante. Ho lavorato – o così è sembrato – per circa un’ora con un uomo, un nuovo partecipante, che era piuttosto bloccato. Nel lavorare così a lungo con lui, è emerso chiaramente che nei suoi blocchi erano contenuti anche i blocchi minori di ogni altra persona nel gruppo, e sciogliere i suoi blocchi, in un certo senso, ha significato scioglierli anche per gli altri, come alcuni partecipanti hanno poi confermato. Noi tutti siamo parte l’uno dell’altro. Ogni parte è parte del tutto e allo stesso tempo il tutto è in ogni parte. Come nella “rete di Indra”. E questo è il motivo per cui oltre il Maestro, il Sangha è così importante per la continuazione del proprio sentiero personale.
A parte tutto questo, essendo in Italia, abbiamo mangiato benissimo. Veramente bene! Un ristorante locale super, dove andiamo regolarmente il venerdì e il sabato sera, e poi la domenica sera in un fantastico ristorante nell’isola di fronte, un cucina squisita, dove sono sempre servito divinamente grazie anche alle nostre favolose ostesse, Galanda e Shamara.
E come sempre, Vandana, Wild Geese dal 1985, una veterana di Energy World, sempre presente, per tradurre agli Italiani, che anche in questi tempi internazionali, rimangono in maggioranza fermi alla loro lingua così espressiva. Akali ha portato al gruppo l’impianto della musica e ha contribuito – ora con grande sapere - all’assistenza nel gruppo insieme a Mishka.
Lunedì mattina Galanda ha fatto un bellissimo massaggio, come sempre eccezionale, sia a me che a Mishka, prima che ci rimettessimo in macchina sulla via verso casa.
Sia all’andata che al ritorno ci sono volute 8 ore di viaggio (con una breve pausa) ma con Mishka, autista meravigliosa, veloce, instancabile e dandoci ogni tanto il cambio, siamo arrivati a casa ancora abbastanza freschi; ho potuto così godermi la partita vittoriosa dell’Inghilterra (4-0) dello scorso venerdì alla Coppa Europa (con l’Arsenal giocava Welbeck, l’Uomo decisivo per la Partita!)
La connessione con i Wild Geese Italiani diventa ancora più forte. Alcuni di loro hanno intenzione di partecipare al nuovo training OPT, altri di partecipare ad altri seminari, inoltre abbiamo in progetto di organizzare la versione Italiana del nostro sito, a cominciare da questo blog!
